Buttons light with door open or closed no washing

With the dishwasher door both open OR closed the 'heavy wash"," rinse only" and" auto clean" cycles buttons light when pushed, but the washer does not start.

When you press Auto Clean it lights up and the other lights turn off.

could it be the door switch or the latch assembly?

It could or it could not. You have to check them for continuity.

REPLACED DOOR SWITCH AND LATCH ASSEMBLY. SAME PROBLEM BUTTONS STILL LIGHT EVEN WHEN DOOR IS OPEN OR WHEN THE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY IS NOT INSTALLED
