Broken in-door ice dispenser hinge/bracket on KitchenAid KSRP25FNSS00 – looking for a workaround since parts are discontinued.

**Main Symptom:**Ice dispenser door/hinge no longer operates correctly due to broken molded bracket.
What happens & when: The ice maker dispenser in the freezer door stopped working properly. I disassembled the dispenser using the process shown in the Ice Door Kit 8201756 repair video and discovered that the upper-right hinge area of the dispenser doorhas a broken molded plastic bracket (the right-side support tab has snapped off). Most of the replacement parts for this assembly now appear to be discontinued. I’m looking for a proven workaround

The kit is the only workaround for this other than replacing the door. i see there are still kits out there in several web sites and auction sites.
