Hello!
I am stumped as why my Bosch dishwasher SHX53T55UC/07 won’t power on. I am not sure what caused it to not power on, but the displays are blank and pushing the power button does nothing.
I did some searching on the web, thinking that replacing the power button and module assembly would fix this, nope! I had already bought the power button and module from appliance parts pro already and I don’t want to keep ordering more parts until I get more definitive answers from a tech.
- There is power coming to the dishwasher to that power button, meter shows 120 VAC
- I did a continuity test on al the red and yellow wires. They are good.
- So, after replacing the power button and module assembly, I would expect this to power on? But nope, still nothing on the display!
- Also, no burnt electrical smells, as in no burned wires that I observed
Am I missing anything else to test?
Regards,
Tyson
Could you give me the part #s you ordered or the order # so I can look it up?
Hi Rory,
Here are the part numbers I ordered per the search field on the website.
Bosch 00620775Dishwasher On/Off Power Switch OEM Part
Bosch 00746432Dishwasher Control Assembly OEM Part
Ah, ok. These don’t need the door closed to show anything on the display, so I don’t think that will be our issue, and you’ve got power to the user interface area from your description.
I’d suspect the control module 12009520 on the lower right side of the frame but I’d certainly do some checks first. I’m attaching the service manual for this model, try running the error codes program that starts on page 65 and the service mode starting on page 74. If those will run they may help narrow things down, if they won’t and the unit remains unresponsive I’d be leaning towards the control module.

I wouldn’t be able to run an error code check, there is no power on the LCD, whether door closed or open. Like you suggested, the main control is probably the culprit.
I took my lower control module apart and did not see any damage soldering or burnt circuits. I continued to test every single wire for continuity and they all pass. What’s your confident level that replacing a new control module will fix my power issue? I have already invested 130 bucks and 4 hours of my time. So, I’m on the fence about buying a new dishwasher at this point. What would you do if you had this scenario? Try to fix it or buy new?
Check the thermal fuse when you have a no power situation.
