11 years after the original post, this fix is still necessary and working! One minor amendment to the instructions: 15 seconds was not enough to reset the timer. I tried 20 seconds, 30 seconds, and it worked only after waiting 60 seconds. We are committed to postponing sending this expensive piece of equipment into the waste stream. Thank you!
