Bosch Dishwasher control unit not functional

My Bosch dishwasher smelled really bad and stopped functioning. It is only 5 1/2 years old. I replace the control unit (219640) and when the switch is turned on there are no lights on the control module. The switch is functioning because when it is on there is electricity going to the panel and when it is off there is no electrical. The panel has electrical going to it but it just won’t turn on. The replaced control module did not smell bad.

Could the wires be on wrong? Is there some sequence of buttons that we need to push to get the control panel to start? Are there jumpers on the panel that we need to set?

Could I just be really unlucky and received a bad control unit?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

How did you test it? Did you test the door switch?

The “on-off” switch has to be tested for continuity between terminals ! & 2, 3 & 4 and 5 & 6.

The door switch should be closed when the door latched.

Gene.

Thank you for your response.

I am confused. The door needs to be open because the controls are on top of the door.

I checked to see if there was voltage going to the panel when the button was switched on. All of the wires had voltage when disconnected from the control unit.

I found my problem. One of the wire nuts at the electrical connection was burned through. I replaced the wire nut and it started working.
Thanks again.
