Amana AER5630BAS0 range still showing F1E2 error codes after replacing main control board (WPW10626966). What could be causing this? Two bad boards? Something else faulty?

Brand: Amana (Whirlpool)
Model Number: AER5630BAS0
Main Symptom: F1E2 error code
What happens & when: Intermittent F1E2 codes. No discernable pattern.

Error Code (if any): F1E2
Parts or tests already tried: Replaced board with new one. Turned breaker off and on. Any help on isolating the issue would be appreciated. Shutting off breaker and replacing control board did not fix it. Troubleshooting guides all said to replace board if turning off power does not fix the issue. Seems like that may be overly simplistic. Either that, or I got a bad replacement board (unlikely).

That is usually a logic issue related only to the main control board, but the temperature sensor circuit can fail and cause a drag on the system that confuses the board.

Unplug the oven, go to the control board and look for the CN3 connector, it’ll have 2 violet/purple wires on it. Disconnect it.

If you’ve got a meter handy you can check the resistance value of the temp sensor circuit. You’re looking for 1.08k-1.1kΩs at room temperature across those 2 purple wires. If that is reading open, shorted, or out-of-range from the resistance range I gave you then you can check the same thing at the temperature sensor AP6016450.

Thank you. I will check that out!
