What happens & when: I made a repair recently and must’ve knocked out the temperature switch from the top panel. Later I went to start it and saw an ark or a spark and the dryer now won’t start. Is there a fuse that blew out? I cant seem to find it or anything about a fuse on the wire diagram. Any help would be appreciated.

Anybody have thoughts. I don’t think my dryer has a fuse. Is that possible? If I replace that switch will that do the job? Please and thank you
That switch shouldn’t prevent the motor from running, with that arcing I’d suspect the switch was miswired and backfed the timer WE4M527 and possibly fried both the timer and that switch WE4M406, and/or damaged the wiring harness.
I’m attaching the tech sheet for this model if you want to do some voltage and continuity testing. If you set the timer the solid brown wire coming off of it should have 120v AC to neutral. If you don’t then the timer has failed.
There is a thermal fuse/thermostat WE4M137 that can prevent the motor from running, located at the top of the heater housing with 2 brown wires. Check that for continuity.

Ok great thx for the help. I’ll get my voltmeter out and start testing what you said to this weekend. I don’t think is miswired because I haven’t disconnected any wire. The switch slipped out and that burnt connector touched some of the metal of the dryer
Ok I did a little testing. I got good continuity on the thermal fuse. I wasnt too sure how to test the other switches so I am just going to replace the both of them and hope for the best. To test the brown wire on the timer would I need to put the door back together to turn the door switch back on? Anyway thanks for the help and directions. Ill buy those parts now
Nah, as long as the timer is hooked up and the dryer is connected to power you can set the timer and check that brown wire to the white wire at the door switch to check to neutral or brown to a machine screw running into the frame or body of the dryer to check voltage to ground.
