Main Symptom: Hot surface light surface doesn’t comes only the on light comes on when the switches are on.
What happens & when: 2 burners to my left isn’t heating up. Rare stop before in about 6 months then front stops today April 10 2026

This could be an issue with the elements, the infinite switches, or possibly both. If you have a multimeter, you can narrow it down with a couple of voltage checks.
It’s best to unplug the power cord while removing the back panel of the console. Once access is gained, power will need to be restored for live testing.
Pull the range forward and remove the rear console panel.
Plug the unit back in and set your meter to Volts AC.
Turn the left rear switch ON
Test from L2 (red wire) to L1 (black wire)
Next, test from H1 to H2 (usually yellow wires)
Turn off the rear switch and turn on the left front switch
Perform the same L1 to L2 and H1 to H2 tests (wire colors will be different at terminal H1 and H2 for this switch)
Here are what the potential readings could mean
120 VAC at L1 to L2 → indicates a power supply issue (missing a leg)
240 VAC at L1 to L2, but not at H1 to H2 → switch has failed
240 VAC at both L1–L2 and H1–H2 → element has failed
This method will clearly tell you whether the issue is in the switch or the heating element. If you’d like, you can share your readings and I’ll help confirm the diagnosis. The attached image is the terminal locations on the switch for visual reference if needed.
