Main Symptom: Won’t spin or agitate
What happens & when:
Water fills and drains fine. Thinking it may be the Motor washer coupling? Any suggestions on what to try first?
This non function was preceded by an older sythetic blanket that fell apart while washing it with another light weight cotton summer weave blanket. I wire strainer filtered out as much of the fluffy debris in the wash tub water to minimize as much of it going thru the water pump so got maybe 85%-90% of it removed. It drained fine but towards the end the motor smelled a bit hot and there was still some water in the remaining blanket after the final spin. When I tried to refill tub to test it I could not get any spin or agitation. It just fills up, drains and pumps the water out so hoping to eliminate it being the water pump.
When I tipped it over the only thing I saw wrong was a back rubber like ring hanging loose that I was told by a local part shop it was a sound baffled gasket and was discretionary.
The water pump is the most expensive so hoping to work my way thru other fix option alternatives parts first.
