Water fills the tub but does not go into the manifold to reach the botton, middle and top spray arms. The dishwasher drains however. I removed the bottom accumulator and tried to remove protector cover over the small pump and could not, is this the drain pump?--how do you loosen it. I stuck my finger down into the plastic pump blade and it moved easily. I'm guessing this is not the real problem as I am worried that the main pump might be no good. How do you tell? If it is the main pump, is this only removeable from the bottom of the cabinet?

Gene, I tried to remove the protector without a ton of force but it wouldn't budge. There is a nubbin on the top. Do I try to pry from that nubben. Looks like there is also a litlle plastic lock handle on the right side of the protector. I pried on that and nothing happenned.

You probably did not read through the whole thread I posted in the previous reply. On the page 2 it says: "Rotate the screw-end of the protector upward to remove the part and expose the chopper assembly".
Gene.

You are absolutely correct. Thanks. Interesting that the thread just below yours says to pry from the right side but the screw is on the left side.

Well, the problem was a plugged chopper screen that kept the water from going up the manifold. I took it apart, cleaned the screen and put it back together. Three weeks later the screen was clogged again. I cleaned it again. Now two wereks later it is clogged again. How do I fix this so it doesn't become clogged?

It's hard to say why it happens without seeing the dishwasher. How the stuff which plugs the chopper looks like? May be the screen in the accumulator assembly (#1 on the diagram) is broken? Gene.

It is a lot of small fiberous type material. It is caked onto the screen on both sides. Item 1,on the diagram, the accumulator screen looks good. What is item 5 on the diagram and how /where is it installed? Could that be an issue? The diagram shows a protector as item 9. I do not see where I have that. Where does that go and could that cause a problem?
WHERE DOES THE CHECK VALVE GO? BETWEEN THE CHOPPER AND THE SHAFT? IF SO I DON'T HAVE ONE
