Good morning to all. I am having trouble with the freezer. The refrigerator is working fine but the freezer is no longer freezing. I inspected and cleaned the condenser and discovered the compressor to be extremely hot. I assume this is because it isn't cycling on and off. I also discovered the small fan down in the back of the fridge to be hard to turn. I think it's safe to assume that it's given up. Is this fan possibly the reason that the freezer doesn't get cold enough any more? And how difficult is it to replace this fan? It looks as though it's bolted from inside the fridge so it can't simply be unbolted and pulled out. In the meantime I've shut off the freezer so it doesn't kill the compressor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Yes, in fact this is the very thing that happened to me - it is called the condenser fan and it cools off the condenser/compressor - get a replacement motor and keep the fan blade and all associated hardware - good luck
