I have the above Kenmore washing machine. Lately the cycle will quit intermittently and I hear a faint buzzing. If I push knob in and pull back out it will start again. I happens at no specified time and I've tried different amounts of clothing (even empty). It still happens. What's the problem and how do I fix it?

Hi Juliene,
Try to pinpoint this "faint buzzing". It might help to diagnose the problem better.

When it stops, it sounds like the elec is there and trying to make it work (the faint buzzing) but it won't actually work. It will happen at no specific time. Most of the time, tho, it will happen when it's agitating or between agitation/spin or during spin cycle. Does that help? I don't smell anything but it sounds like when a motor or gear gets stuck and the buzz is there to make it want to go but it won't actually go!
