Hello Gene,

This is Ben. Since we last spoke I put that fridge to the side and not messed with. However, now I would like to resume trying to repair it. I followed up with your suggestion of disconnecting and bipassing the thermostat unit. When I put the wires together nothing happens. How long should I hold them together, and what should I be listening or looking for? All I have going on now is the light in the back of the fridge. The fan and compressor do not seem to be turning on. What do you recomend trying next?

Hello Ben,

Check for 120VAC between the two wires coming to the compressor wile the thermostat wires are still connected. Post the results.

Gene.
