I have a Kitchenaid frige with adead condensor fan motor. The original part number is 2176723.

The part has been updated, and the new replacement part # according to the web site is AP2982471 ( a Whirpool part #, as they own Kitchenaid).

However, the picture for the new part (Part Details - WHIRLPOOL Motor, cond.fan, part number: AP2982471) is different:

- It appears to have four mounting tabs on the back of the motor housing, my original part has 3 screw-holes 120 degrees apart along the edgoe of the motor housing

- The new part has a pigtail electrical connection, the orig. has a molded plug on the motor housing.

- The new appars to have a seperate 5-blade fan-blade assembly that screws to the motor, the orig has an integral 4-blade setup

Anybody had to replace one of these before and know if it is a direct replacement without significant modification?

Thanks.
