My Maytag stopped cooling. I took the rear cover off and unplugged the fridge. I waited 10 min and plugged it back in. I heard a clicking noise but was not sure if it was the capacitor of the overload relay. I tapped on both and the compressor started. What should I replace? Also when I looked up the model number it comes up with 2 different models. They are PTB1753GRQ and PTB1753GRW....what is the difference between the two?

Clicking will not be in the capacitor so probably it is the overload/relay especially since it has been re-designed. Here is a good link on how to check things Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Fix a Refrigerator - ACME HOW TO.comAlso when I looked up the model number it comes up with 2 different models. They are PTB1753GRQ and PTB1753GRW....what is the difference between the two? Do not know but in this case it does not matter as both units use the same compressor etc. |
