Need model # to help. Try filling it again on low setting. If the water level is consistently at the same level, you have a bad water level switch. If erratic, you may have a partially clogged plastic hose that goes to the bottom of the tub. If so, remove the hose from the water level switch, blow in it to clear it and pump some vinegar down the hose with a turkey baster, this will dissolve any soap residue in the bowl where the hose is attached.
