When I turn the cold ontrol in the freezer to off, leave it off for a while, and then turn it back on, the compressor turns on immediately. It works very efficiently, turning a cup with water into solid ice in about 1/2 hour. The ice maker spits out at least 1 round if ice, maybe 2? Then the click/buzz/click comes back and the compressor doesn't seem to come back on again.

I did not discharge the capacitor, is it possible that this is why the new relay/overload did not do the trick?

Or, does this sound like a bad compressor?
