Sounds to me like the motor may be overheating.

Just to add my 2 cents... You may want to remove the washer cabinet (instructions are attached), bypass the lid switch and run the washer watching the motor for an excessive heat (if it stops). Gene. Would it try to drain and/or spin?

Thanks very much for your help. Don't want to jinx myself here, but we've been fortunate the past few days -- the washer has not stopped.
If it does stop again, I'd like to bypass the lid switch. Have seen a few posts on how to do it, but to be honest, it's not exactly clear to me. Where are the two spots where I would connect the jumper wire?

There is a three wire plug. Do not touch the middle one - it's the ground.
