We have a Whirlpool Super Capacity 405 Oven/Range.
Model Number RF362BXGQ0
Serial # RJ0816668

Our renters shattered the glass while "cleaning", but I suspect the the torsion springs may be too tight and won't allow the door to stay open. It automatically wants to slam shut no matter how open it is.

First of all, does anyone have the manual for this range or similiar range? Do I need to take the door off to replace the outer glass panel? Also, the part that was ordered was a white opaque piece of glass. I swear that the original glass had a see through cut out to see into the oven. But the parts direct people say it is the right piece for this oven.

Secondly, isn't it completely wrong that the door wants to slam shut? Is that a problem with a setting or torsion springs?

Your responses are welcomed and I thank you. If you need further clairification on the issues, please let me know.
