I have a Whirlpool washer model number WTW5300vwz. When the water temperature is set to hot, during filling the water comes out warm and sometimes switches over to hot for a few moments. I have changed the water inlet valve assembly with no change. I'm wondering if the washer does not allow straight hot water into it. My wife says the water used to get much hotter. Should the water temp going into the washer be as hot as the temperature of the hot water heater?

I am having the same problem. I taught my previous washer was bad as I replaced the inlet valve on it and no fix. So I bought a brand new whirlpool and the problem still exist. I live in a codo have a hot water heater and hot water gets everywhere else.
