According to the instructions, we should seprate the double red wire and connect the seprated red wires to P2 and 2. However, the burner does not work when the switch is turned on. According to the Answer you referred to: "The way to hook this switch up is the 2 red will go to P2 and the single red will go to 2. You will have a jumper wire that goes from P1 to S1. " I just wonder that for a single, small burner (as the right rear one in CVE3401B), shall we separate the double red wire and connect them seprately to P2 and 2 or shall we keep the double red wire together and simply connect it to P2 while leaving 2 unconnected? Are we going to damage anything if we try not separating the double red wire on this switch? Thank you again.

Why did you buy the switch for a dual burner if you need the switch for a single small burner? That's why you are having problems to install it. Those parts are absolutely different. You need the infinite switch Part number: 71001166
which is direct replacement part. Gene.

which is direct replacement part. Gene. Thank you very much, Gene. The information was given to me by a local parts store. They told me that both the right front and the right rear burners use the same switch. I will get the new part and try it. Thanks.

Gene. Good morning, Gene. The switch arrived and the installation was real straight forward (exact wiring scheme). However, there is one problem: the off position of the switch points to the three o'clock position instead of the original six o'clcok position. It is because the screw holes on the new switch are 90 degrees perpendicular to the original. Is there another single switch or another switch knob we can use? I appreciate the help you have already given. The off position may not be a big issue. However, if you have the ready information, I will be grateful. Thank you. FYao

Hello, It sounds very strange. What I would do in such situation - just accurately drill two new holes in the switch mounting bracket (#6 at the diagram). Gene.

I have a Jenn-air CCE3401B The switch for the dual burner is not working so I order the replacement and I got the 12002125 which is different to the original in the cooktop I have pictures to clarify the situation maybe somebody can tell me the corresponding between the terminals in one and the other. I believe that Blk cable goes to terminal P1 Bl cable goes to terminal 4 Violet cable goes to terminal 4a orange cable goes to terminal S2 Double red cable goes to terminal P2 and I need to put a bridge between P1 and S1 but I'm not sure Help Please!!!!1 I've tried this connection and it didn't work is it possible that I need to separate the 2 red cables that use to be connected on the N terminal and split it between terminals P2 and 2 in the new switch, if yes please tell me which cable goes to which terminal THANKS CARLOS Charlie Z attached the following image(s):
