I have a very old Kenmore 80 series heavy duty plus washer model 1060120 that wants to spin the tub while washing. This machine hasn't been used much and works great otherwise. Any help on this issue would be appreciated. I'm mechanically inclined and enjoy keeping old equipment not designed by lawyers going.

When you say spin the tub while washing, do you mean the tub moves as the agitator moves. Can you spin the tub freely by hand when the machine is off?
If you answer yes then it means the brake is worn out.
Now as for getting you the correct part number I need the machines complete model number. It will start with a 110. followed by 8 numbers..
