So I have a question. When I turn my oven on, the igniter comes on right away, however, it takes a few minutes before the burner heats up and light the flame. It eventually comes on but it just takes longer than usual for it to come on. I can use the oven and it cooks fine. After the oven is cut off and cool off for hours, you can sometimes smell gas.
I had a repairman look at it and the igniter is fine, there are no gas leaks anywhere. He thinks that the gas valve is going bad? Does that sound right or could it be the burner itself that is going bad on the oven. If that is the case, would that bad burner cause a smell of gas when the oven is off or would the gas valve be the cause.
