HI,
First time poster.

I have a Hotpoint gas range mmodel number RGB745WEA7WW that the oven wasn't heating. It would take the oven 45 minutes to preheat to 400 degrees. So I changed out the ignitor after reading other posts online. Well, I got it installed and turned on the oven. The ignitor turned on and a few seconds later I heard the gas being released. When the gas ignited it gave a small boom and the noven door shook slightly. There mwas also a smell of gas in the kitchen. It startled me pretty good. I thought it might be because the ignitor mwas too far away from the gas tube but when IU bent the mounting bracket closer, it did the same thing.
Any ideas on what the issue might be?
Obviously I'm worried to even use the oven at this point fearing an explosion.
Thanks for any help!
