checked the agitator dogs while it was washing they were good.
the noise seems to be associated with the tub moving back and forth not
the agitator. hate to tear it down without a specific area to look at.

It is almost impossible for us to diagnose a noise like that from afar. I suggest you take off the cabinet and jumper the lid switch and operate it and see if you can tell where the noise is coming from. It may be a problem with the pump, which runs continuously, or with the coupling or with the transmission, clutch or brakes. Check them all.
