hi, my name is chris and I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with my Maytag dishwasher model # MDB4000AWA. The wash cycle seems to work ok but when the rinse cycle comes on there's only a hum, no water. Any info would really help, thanks.

I am sort of stumped on this.
As far as I know rinse is basically the same as wash.

If you try rinse only, does it work?
My reasoning here is perhaps the motor is overheating in wash and therefore will not run in rinse so just doing a rinse should eliminate this as a cause.
Could be the timer not closing the start contacts at the rinse.

I know that some of these units had the leaking rinse aid dispenser problem so you may want to check the wires from the control down to the motor.
Cannot see how this would only effect rinse but is worth looking at
