I have an older (8-9 years or so) Whirlpool Duet that has been a great washer so far but just lately isn't consistently draining and it doesn't seem to matter the cycle as it's happened on a few different cycles. No error codes are displayed. The washer runs as normal, no strange noises or errors, etc. and when I go to swap laundry I'll find clothes sitting in a pool of water. I'll run a drain/spin cycle that seems to handle the issue...just very inconvenient to do this. Happens probably every 4th or 5th load now.

I've read other threads, but those users had newer models, error codes and NO draining at all. I watched some Youtube videos about cleaning the pump screen, etc. for debris and can do that, but I would think if something were blocking it would block EVERY load, not just now and then?

Anyone having intermittent draining issues?

Thank you.

The first step in a problem like this is to thoroughly clean the pump. If that doesn't fix or help, use the tech notes under the top or inside the lower service panel to put it into test mode and see if you can generate some error codes.
