My washer stops out of the blue. Almost like if it was overheating and it shuts itself off. It doesn't stop at any particular cycle. Sometimes it stops after it's done filling, or in the middle of washing, sometimes it stops in the beginning of the rinse cycle when it is filling with water and it will keep filling to the point that water overflows. When it stops you can hear something running. I turn it off for a few minutes and then turn back on and it will continue to wash normally. What can this be?

The first thing I would do is open the control panel and check all wires and connections. You also may want to measure the current drawn by the motor. It should be no more than 9.8 amps.
