Please Help. Yesterday our washer stopped spinning and would not drain. After some research I took it apart and checked the clutch and the motor coupler. The clutch seemed ok. It was very hard to turn. The coupler was completely round in the center so I replaced it. Ran a test load and the washer worked. But, not it makes a high pitched sound and has a burning smell. any help is appreciated.

You didn't get the coupler halves on far enough. They must be flush with the end of the shafts. Use a socket and hammer to tap them on.

Thank you for the reply. After I posted this I found a similar post which said the same thing. Did it and is working just fine now. I really appreciate this forum.
