This week my Maytag dryer started putting black grease marks on clothing. I noticed that about an inch of felt is missing from the back of the drum. My research shows I should replace 2 wheels, both front and back felts, 2 front glides and 2 pads for the glides. And I will also order the high heat adhesive. Do I need new washers and rings for the wheels? Is replacing all this overkill? Have I left anything off my list? Last week I cleaned the inner and outer tubs of my washer, and now my dryer is acting up. I want to end this happy homeowner madness!

Here are your parts Parts for Maytag MDE308DAYW Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.comDo I need new washers and rings for the wheels? They should be OK. Is replacing all this overkill? It could be but then you know that the parts will be OK for a long time. You are probably putting extra dollars into the unit for that security. Have I left anything off my list? My advice would be to pull the unit apart and check what is worn and then replace those parts. It should not take long to get the parts if they are in stock. I would check the rear support roller shafts. Also check the belt, idler wheel and any internal seals. Give the interior including the blower wheel a good cleaning. This is also a good time to check/clean your vent system. |
