We eat washers. Most recent problem is the cycle selection knob. It just spins indicating stipped gears or maybe a slipped gear. We've taken a lot of things apart, but never a washer. Do we dare tackle this one?

This should be one of your easier repairs. Here is the part

Part number: AP3995138
Part number: AP3995138

To take off the old timer take out the screws that hold the console face plate or take off the back of the console. The timer knob is held on with a clip that you can remove with needle nose pliers and the timer comes off from the back.

When you open it up you may find the timer has broken off from the console (weak plastic tabs hold it) and you may be able to fix it and save the cost of a replacement.

Good luck.
