I have a Frigidaire FRX26Zgg Side By Side refrigerator that is about 7-8 years old. The front surface of the center divider (where both door seals seat themselves) gets so hot it nearly burns your fingertips. It only gets hot on the gasket edge face, not on the inside faces of the unit.
This simply does not seem right. Seems like I'm likely paying the electric company a small fortune to keep this thing running?? The unit seems to work fine otherwise.
Do I call the repairman, or list it on Craigslist???
Thanks in advance
Will check for any ideas in the morning..............

Could not find any info on this specific Model but often this is due to poor cooling of the condenser coils. Could be that they are dirty or that the compressor/condenser fan is not running. Here is a good link, see Item 18 http://www.applianceaid.com/refrigerator.htmlI clean mine by removing the lower rear cover and the front kick plate, rolling it to an open door and blowing it out with a compressor. Have been told that a leaf blower also does a good job. This may not be possible for you so you may have to use a long brush and a vacuum. |
