The baking element in my oven started glowing and almost burned into last night. Is this caused from just a short in the element or could the thermostat have stuck too?

I cannot find any info on the given model number, please check it. Model Number Locator"almost burned into last night" I am going to assume that the above was just a typo and you meant "burned in two". It is not really a short but a degradation/crack in the coating on the element. If it was just a hot spot on the element then the fault is only the element. This type of problem can blow an electronic timer/clock/control board especially if sparks happen. |
