Gibson Market Master refridgerator. The light doesn't go on. I changed the bulb and still no light. I checked the bulb in another socket and it works. I checked the switch at the bottom of the door with a current tester and there is a (weak) current coming to the swithch. I bought a switch from you and replaced it, still nothing. Before I move the fridge away from the wall and start following the wire around with a tester I thought I would ask you if this is a common problem with an easy solution. Is their a reset for the light circuit? Do you have a diagram of the wiring for the light? The rest of the fridge works fine.
Thanks

What is the voltage you get at the switch? Is it close to the voltage rating on the bulb? Unplug the refrigerator and look inside the socket that the bulb fits into. At the bottom of the socket there is a tab that connects to the bottom of the bulb to make the light come on. Look to see if that tab looks burnt and if so replace the socket. Sometimes all you have to do is bend the tab up so that it makes better contact. Refrigerator repair guide

You were right! I tested the two points in the socket and got a full current. I guess the switch test was weak because the light bulb was completing the circuit up top and it was not making full contact. So I just bent the little peice of metal out a little, then put the bulb in and there is Light! (next time I might unplug the fridge first, but then how do you test? 120 isn't all that bad, as I just discovered. My dog barked as loud as I did and he was in the next room)
Thanks jvd
