Here are your parts
Replacement parts for Kenmore 2537184210A | AppliancePartsPros.com

If you click on the ice maker's picture on the first page of the parts a new page will open with a Q&A section, perhaps here will be some help there.

I am assuming that the tray did fill with water and that it does feel frozen.

Did it finally produce some cubes.
The ice maker tray itself must cool down before it will eject the cubes.
I think it is about 15 degrees F.
Check that your freezer temperature is between o and 5 degrees F.
It will make ice faster if the freezer temperature is closer to the 0.

Id it did not make ice check that the arm that senses the bin fill is down (re: the bin is not full)

What kind of noise?
Could be that the new ice makes is defective.

Here are a couple manuals

I do not know what your new ice maker is so included both manuals.
The first has a more modern unit.
You may have to join the site to get the manual but it is free.
Also there are lots of manuals for different units in the "Downloads" section.

Basically how the ice maker works is:
The arms rotate
It fills with water
It freezes and an internal thermostat freezes and closes.
This starts the tray heater and the arm rotation heater
The arms rotate and hit the ice cubes.
The motor stalls here until the heater releases the cubes and then it continues the cycle.
It ejects the cubes and then does another arm cycle to re-fill with water.

The first manual has a better step by step explanation.

It is in the ice maker and measures the tray/mold temperature.

I thought the problem was that it was not making/ejecting ice cubes.
OR
Is the probelm that it makes the ice cubes but will not dispense them out the door?
