Dryer overheated then shut off. Replaced thermal fuse. It runs but still periodically overheats then shuts off. After a few minutes, it will restart. It doen'st do it all the time. Doesn't matter what the Temperature Switch is set on.

A common cause of dryers overheating is restricted airfolw. Check the vent from the dryer, all the way to the outside of the house. Look for kinks (if you're using flex duct), or other restrictions, like clogs and animal nests.

If the air flows as strongly at the house vent outlet as it does at the dryer, you may have a bad cycling thermostat.

Thanks for the info. When it first quit I took it apart and thoroughly cleaned everything, which it desparately needed. I only changed one thermal fuse. I'll try replacing all of them and see how that works.

Thanks again.
