Directions to replace the lid lock on a Fridgidare Washer

My tenants broke the lid lock on the washer/dryer stack and I am trying to fix it. I have found the part (AP4368349) but I was told it does not come within any directions and I was looking to see if any one had replaced this part or had some step by step tasks so I had an idea as to what I was getting my self into.
Thanks, MC

Hi sidfink43,
Thanks for the link, I think it is on the right track but unfortunately I have a newer model that uses the all plastic type lid lock (I dont see any screws on the part so it seems to some how snap into place, but I don't see how it does). Could you provide a link to the new service manual that deals with this type of lid lock? That would be very much appreciated.
Many Thanks, MWC

I wish I could but that is the only stacked washer/dryer Frigidaire unit for which I can link to a service manual.

Thanks for checking, just curious but the part I need to replace also lists compatable model numbers of: KENMORE 41797812704 LAUNDRY CENTER KENMORE 41797912704 LAUNDRY CENTER KENMORE 41797962705 LAUNDRY CENTER
I know they're all interchangeable, but could you have a link to a manual for one of these model numbers?

No, those are all made by Frigidaire for Sears and are basically the same as yours.
Frigidaire only posts on stacked unit on its tech site.
Electrolux is pretty good with customer relations, so if you contact them they may be able to send you out a manual or instructions.
Good luck, wish I could be of more help.

So I just went ahead an took a shot at doing the fix in the dark, and it is pretty simple.
Disconnect power to washer Remove two screws at bottom of washer cabinet Slide front of cabinet off Locate Lld Lock Device (Front-Top-Right) of unit Disconnect wires from device, be sure to keep track of the 2 single wires and which connection they go to. **Now here is where I got a little caveman and just used a flat screwdriver and pliers to tear apart and pull out the old part, there may be a better way. To install the new part just slide the open slot end of the part up through the inside of the cabinet, you might have to adjust a little back to front, but then it should snap into place. Reconnect the wires Close up the cabinet and that was it.
Hope that helps for whoever needs this in the future.
