our washer keeps filling with water even when unplugged from the wall electrical outlet. does this mean the fill valve is faulty or could it still be the water level switch?

It will be the fill valve.
When you unplug the unit there is no power to the valve so it should close, if not it is toast.
THIS FORUM IS DEAD!!!!!!!
