I have a few yr old coin laundry Roper washer that tenants state the final spin does not get the clothes dry enough to dry in the dryer.

So I ran the washer (empty) for a cycle and watched. First time without interruption and saw nothing odd, second time I openned the lid during the final spin cycle and closed it quit and it did not go back to spinning, openned it again and it started spinning, openned it again and waited for it to stop and closed the lid and it went back to spinning. Thus it seems like the complete stop makes the difference.

All ideas, suggestions, thought welcome and thank you!
