Costwise, I'll be better of buying an inexpensive washer.

Joe,

I thought of dropping you a line to let you know that I had the washer working about two weeks after our last conversation. Initially,when I inspected for any obstruction inside the tranny (none found), #26 on the diagram, the plastic and metal clip came off gear # 25. When I put them together, I put the plastic with an "UP" marking side towards #25 (as if the whole unit in upright position). I downloaded the gearcase assembly drawing and noted that #25 should have been flipped over which I did.

Lo and behold the washer is working properly again.

Hopefully this information might help down the road.
