I have a Jenn-Air model# jrt153rl made around 1986 that works great normally but since I have it in my cold garage this winter the freezer and fridge are not cooling. From what I have been told on newer fridges the thermostat is registering the outside temp and not kicking on the fridge. Now I have sen the Garage Fridge Kit for newer Fridges is there anything I can do for this particular model? Thanks...

Here are your parts

If I look up JRT153RL all I get is the doors, that is why I used just JRT153.

It all depends what your outside temperature is.
When it starts to get close to freezing then the oil in the compressor starts to thicken and it does not lubricate properly so it is hard on the compressor.

The kit you are referring to is for Frigidaire top mount analogue thermostat units and not for the newer electronic controlled units. You may be able to modify it to work with your unit.

What it does is to add some heat so that the compressor comes on after a defrost cycle.
Currently your unit goes through a defrost cycle but due to the ambient temperature the unit does not turn the compressor on after defrost so the defrost heat stays in the freezer and melts the food.

Here is the kit, click on the picture for more info.
