Oven themostat is defective, I've obtained a new one but curious about what the best way to thread the new capillary tube into the oven cavity is.

Front of the range top lifts up a few inches, but doesn't seem to be enough clearance to put it through the hole in the rear. There is limited about I can move it upward w/ the gas burners still attached.

Do I need to disconnect the small gas lines going to the individual burners (and wires to the spark ignitors) and then remove the entire rangetop, or is there some secret to get access to the hole in the back. Looks like there are pins in the rear that prevent me from pulling the range top forward.

Thanks for any help!

is there an open area when you pull the range out from the wall under the control panel to feed the sensing bulb through the hole?,
