That device looks an awful lot like the original part I purchased (see my very first post above) which I couldn't find a place to fit into the unit. I must be looking in the wrong place or something. I'm feeling a bit like I'm in over my head at this point, so I don't know that I'm comfortable experimenting with other parts now that may or may not work. I was really hoping it was going to be a simple "unplug this and plug the new one in" and I just ordered the wrong part originally, but it's sounding more complicated than that. I may just have to go ahead and bite the bullet and call a guy in. I'll see if I can get a detailed diagnosis from him to close the loop on here. I really appreciate all the time you've spent talking me through this stuff, however. Thanks very much.

Unfortunately, they could not supply the original factory part, and we keep on seeing this problem where it takes a good technical person to fix the items.

Bummer.
New start dev, same old clicking.
As was feared, it seems to be the compressor itself. Sounds like that's a repair that will cost as much as the refrigerator was to purchase in the first place ($560). New fridge time!
Thanks again for your help, earlier. Too bad it turned out to be bad news.
