I have my dryer all torn apart to put a new motor in, but I can't get the blower fan off the threaded end of the motor shaft. I don't want to torque on it too much because I'm afraid I'll break it. Is it a left-hand thread?

Thanks!

Bear down on it, and unscrew it. That is the only way. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Replace it.
Once it is stripped, it is toast.

I found I was able to get mine off by placing a wrench on the hex nut behind the motor and resting the handle against the idler pulley shaft. Then I put a vice grip on the motor shaft in front of the motor and whacked it clockwise with a hammer. you could use a sturdy piece of wood. It came off. If that won't loosen it you will have to use a screwdriver from the motor side and literally bust the plastic of the fan blade off of the motor shaft.
