I cannot get a wiring diagram for this unit as GE likes to keep everything a secret.

I do not think it would be a blown run winding as I doubt the motor would go on just the start winding.

Usually one of the centrifugal switches on the motor is wired in parallel with the start switch to hold the motor on when you release the start switch.
It also removes the start winding from the circuit. Perhaps this is shot. If it is you will have to replace the motor.
If you do not have heat when you hold the push to start, it may be that the mechanism that closes the switches is clogged up with lint etc. and is not working. The second centrifugal switch on the motor is for the heating coil.

From the parts I see that your idler wheel assembly has a switch sometimes this is wired in series with the run winding so perhaps it is shot or is not being activated for some reason.

If you do not have the wiring diagram look inside the unit's control console often they put one in there.
