The outlet for disposal should go through the on-off switch. Did you turn that switch on when you tried the dishwasher?

The wiring goes through the dishwaher, then to the on-off switch for the disposal. There is no outlet or switch for the dishwasher.

I don't think this is correct. The dishwasher should be on a separate circuit with it's own circuit breaker.

Make sure there is 120 VAC to the dishwasher by measuring voltage at the power cord connection to the dishwasher junction box under the dishwasher.

Well, I may need to hire an electrician to fix this. When they wired my house, this circuit breaker controls the dishwasher, disposal, and a couple of outlets in my breakfast nook. Not sure why, but it does!!!
