My dryer gradually stopped drying over the past 3 weeks. I have it disassembled right now testing parts, but am not sure what all I should be testing and how. I checked my heating element for continuity and seems to be good. Any help is appreciated. thanks

First of all, this is a Frigidaire/Electrolux made machine sold under the GE label.
If the element is not heating at all but the dryer comes on and the drum turns, check for continuity in the various thermal fuses/thermostats. One of them is likely your problem. Also make sure you are getting 120v to each side of the connection block.

Hey, Thanks for the reply. I have checked the control thermostat, Hi-Limit Thermostat, and the Thermal Thermostat, and they all seem to be fine. I'm getting continuity on all of them. I also am getting 120v at both sides. I'm not sure if this is an issue, but I ran the dryer with just the top off to see if I could see anything and i could see where the coil would glow for a few minutes, then shut off, then come back on again. It seems like thats what its suppose to do but Im' not sure. I am checking the exhaust vent right now, and aside from that I don't know what to do. Thanks

Ok, replace the operating thermostat and see if that does not fix things. Sounds like the machine is working but that the thermostat is opening too soon.
