tried to reset the timer, don't know if I did, still no sound from fan, may have to replace timer? any other ideas?

Take that housing down where the timer is, look for burn marks on the timer connection, if it looks good, disconnect the cold control and connect the 2 wires together to see if it starts, if so your cold control is bad

That part name is a Defrost timer.
