Machine filled with water and shut down. 20 years old. Water still in tub, could this be timer motor or timer?

Did you try to drain the water using the spin/ drain cycle ? Raise and lower the loading lid, do you hear a click from the lid switch assembly? A bad lid switch would keep the motor & timer from running(the most common problem). If it should test out and be a timer problem, You will need a timer complete, due to probable contact damage in the timer itself. Part number: AP4024441
