My dryer heats for about 5 mins. then stops heating. If I let it sit a while it will heat a few mins and cool down again. Any ideas?

Check the house ducting, probably clogged. To confirm, run the dryer without ducting and verify proper operation. They sell a "lint eater" brush on line or at this parts site.
